Kagan Stern Welcomes New Associate Veronica Mina

Kagan Stern is pleased to announce the hiring of Veronica J. Mina as a new Associate Attorney with the firm.  Ms. Mina comes to the firm with significant judicial clerkship experience.  Ms. Mina started as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable William C. Mulford, II, of the Circuit Court of Maryland for Anne Arundel County.  She then was selected by the judges of the Circuit Court to clerk for the Honorable Lynne A. Battaglia, Senior and retired Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals, who was specially assigned to decide a case of first impression involving constitutional challenges to Maryland’s Congressional Redistricting Plan (see Szeliga v. Lamone, Case Nos. C-02-CV-21-001816, C-02-CV-21-001773, 2022 Md. Cir. Ct. LEXIS 9 (Md. Cir. Ct. Mar. 25, 2022).  Ms. Mina then clerked for the Honorable Michael E. Malone, of the Circuit Court of Maryland for Anne Arundel County.  

After graduating cum laude from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2018, Ms. Mina graduated from the University of Maryland Francis Carey School of Law in 2021, where she served as the Executive Editor of the Maryland Journal of International Law and was a member of the National Trial Team.  During law school, Ms. Mina received the William P. Cunningham Award and was selected as a member of the Order of the Barristers.  She also published two articles: The Biden Administration’s Decision to Rejoin the World Health Organization – A Power Move or a Faulty Move?, 36 MD. J. INT’L L. 121 (2022); and Gamble v. United States: The Dual Sovereignty Doctrine Under the National vs. International Context – What is Sovereign to One is not Sovereign to the Other, 35 MD. J. INT’L L. 255 (2021).

Ms. Mina will be working in the firm’s various litigation practice areas.  “Veronica is very bright, has learned a lot from her clerkships, and has already accomplished a lot early in her career,” stated Jonathan Kagan, Managing Partner of Kagan Stern Marinello & Beard, LLC. “We are very excited to have Veronica join our team and serve our clients in various complex business litigation cases, fiduciary litigation, and employment matters,” continued Mr. Kagan.
