Kagan Stern Partner Presents to Different Business Group

Kagan Stern Partner, Stephen Stern, frequently speaks on a variety of topics to business groups. During the past few weeks, he had the privilege of addressing two different business groups at virtual events where he discussed multiple legal issues.
On November 4, 2021, Mr. Stern gave a presentation at the Chesapeake Human Resources Association entitled, “Fair (and Ethical) Competition: What HR Needs to Know About Antitrust and Non-Compete Agreements.” This presentation identified strategic and legal issues to consider when implementing non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, including definitions of particular terms, legitimate protectable business interests, multi-jurisdictional considerations, and new developments in the law, among other issues.
On November 19, 2021, Mr. Stern gave a presentation to the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (Maryland Chapter) entitled, “How to Conduct an Effective Workplace Investigation.” This presentation identified numerous legal and practical issues that colleges and universities should consider when conducting investigations and developing policies and practices regarding workplace investigations.
