Veronica Mina focuses her practice representing businesses and individuals in the areas of complex business and employment litigation and other civil disputes.
Ms. Mina joined the firm as an Associate in 2022. She is a zealous advocate who works diligently to help clients achieve their goals and make informed business decisions by providing cost-effective representation.
At Kagan Stern, Ms. Mina represents businesses and individuals in a variety of claims at the state and federal level covering a broad spectrum of complex civil litigation, employment litigation, and estates and trusts litigation. Ms. Mina’s varied litigation experience includes wage-and-hour disputes, non-competes and other restrictive covenants, breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, conspiracy, violations of the Maryland Uniform Trade Secrets Act, tortious interference, defamation, invasion of privacy, breach of fiduciary duties, guardianships, and landlord/tenant disputes. Ms. Mina has successfully litigated, negotiated, and resolved numerous complex and highly contested business, employment, and civil matters for local and national businesses and individuals. She has led and participated in all aspects of litigation, from case evaluation and discovery through trial, as well as extensive motions and appellate practice. Known for her detail-oriented research, strong writing, and critical problem-solving skills, Ms. Mina leaves no stone unturned and effectively communicates with and advocates for her client.
Since joining Kagan Stern in 2022, Ms. Mina’s skillful approach has resulted in obtaining injunctive relief in violation of non-compete agreements, obtaining significant judgments on behalf of her clients, including for a pharmaceutical company involving claims of fraud, and in an estate litigation case over claims of fraud, as well as several successful dismissals of lawsuits involving fraud, defamation, breach of contract, piercing the corporate veil, and breach of fiduciary duty, at the state and federal level.
Prior to joining Kagan Stern, Ms. Mina served as the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable William C. Mulford, II, of the Circuit Court of Maryland for Anne Arundel County. In this role, she worked on a variety of complex business and civil litigation matters for the head civil Judge, including cases involving breach of contract claims, workers’ compensation appeals, stockholder derivative claims, defamation, violations of the Maryland Uniform Trade Secrets Act, and negligent retention and supervision. Her outstanding work for Judge Mulford was recognized by the judges of the Circuit Court who selected Ms. Mina to become the Specially Assigned Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Lynne A. Battaglia, of the Supreme Court of Maryland, where she spent several months working on a case of first impression involving constitutional challenges to Maryland’s Congressional Redistricting Plan. Ms. Mina then concluded her clerkship experience with the Honorable Michael E. Malone, of the Circuit Court of Maryland for Anne Arundel County, where she continued to hone her skills in research and writing.
Ms. Mina is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (“UMBC”), having graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government. At UMBC, Ms. Mina was a member of the nationally recognized Mock Trial Team, the Pre-Law Society, and the club lacrosse team. Ms. Mina then attended law school at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. During law school, Ms. Mina was an award-winning member of the National Trial Team, where she argued cases around the country. Ms. Mina was also the Executive Editor of the Maryland Journal of International Law and authored two publications selected by the Executive Committee to be included in the Journal. Ms. Mina received the William P. Cunningham Award for her many outstanding accomplishments and was selected as a member of the Order of the Barristers.
Ms. Mina has been recognized as an Up & Coming Lawyers, What’s Up? Annapolis for 2025 and 2026 and was selected as one of the Top Attorneys in Maryland Rising Stars in 2025.
Born and raised in Anne Arundel County, Ms. Mina is a proud daughter of immigrant parents from Egypt and is fluent in Arabic. Outside of the courtroom, she enjoys running, traveling, discovering new food establishments, and spending time with her dogs.

Representative Cases
Commercial Lease Dispute (United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia) – prevailed on motion to dismiss representing government contractor in a commercial lease dispute filed in federal district court where the landlord accused the government contractor of terminating its lease improperly and owing approximately $2 million in rent, but, applying contract interpretation principles and the plain terms of the lease, the court agreed that the government contractor terminated the lease consistent with the terms of the lease and did not owe back rent.
Fraud, Breach of Contract, and Other Tort Claims (Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County) – prevailed on a motion to dismiss for improper venue on behalf of the individuals and an elite educational institute, which dealt with the proper interpretation of a forum selection clause. As a result, the claims of fraud, intentional misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duties, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of the Maryland Consumer Protection Act, were dismissed.

Breach of Contract, Piercing the Corporate Veil, and Fraud (Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County) – prevailed on a motion to dismiss for a limited liability company and the individuals on claims of breach of contract, piercing the corporate veil, and fraud.
Breach of Contract (Circuit Court for Prince George’s County) – prevailed at trial on a motion for judgment after the conclusion of the individual’s case-in-chief in a case involving allegations against the entity for breach of contract.
Fraud and Other Tort Claims (Circuit Court for Baltimore County) – obtained a consent judgment on behalf of the pharmaceutical company for $200,000.00 on claims of fraud in the inducement, fraud, unjust enrichment, and constructive trust.
Fraud, Breach of Fiduciary Duty, and Other Tort Claims (Circuit Court for Baltimore County) – obtained a default judgment against individuals for $115,000.00 on claims of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy, and aiding and abetting, which arose out of a sibling’s intentional concealment of other heirs to an estate on an Estate Petition filed in Orphans’ Court to receive the entire sum of the decedent’s estate.
Defamation (Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County) – prevailed on the Plaintiff’s motion to dismiss the complaint against the Defendant, which raised claims for defamation, false light, and a preliminary and permanent injunction.
Professional Malpractice and Other Tort Claims (Circuit Court for Baltimore County) – defeated the Defendant’s motion to dismiss the complaint, which raised claims for professional malpractice, negligent supervision, and negligent misrepresentation and/or concealment against a tax firm.
Unjust Enrichment and Contribution Claims (Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County) – defeated the Defendant’s motion to dismiss the complaint on contribution claims for Unjust Enrichment and Money Had and Received.
Breach of Contract and Employment-Related Claims (D.C. Superior Court) – defeated the Defendant’s motion to dismiss on employment claims for breach of contract and tortious interference with contractual relations.
Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Injunction (Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County) – obtained a Temporary Restraining Order and a Preliminary Injunction against the Defendant in a case involving significant hoarding to prevent Defendant’s interference with remediation efforts and avoid demolition of property.
Trustee Appointments (Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County) – appointed as trustee by the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County on several occasions to facilitate the sale of real property in estate and divorce matters.
